After a week of house/doggy sitting, I’m finally making some progress on sewing again. I’ve been working on the Scrap Happy Sampler BOM. I’ve been painfully refraining from purchasing new fabric, so this scrap happy sampler is perfect since it’s a new project without buying any new fabric. 🙂
Here is my January Block finally finished.
I’ve also gotten a start on February’s Scrap Happy BOM as well. The February block is all hand sewing English paper pieced hexagons….yet another technique I had never tried before. I must say the hexagons are a lot easier than I expected.
I was lucky enough to win some precut paper hexagons from the very lady putting on this BOM, so that’s awesome!! I also have all of the fabric hexagons cut, so I might actually be able to finish the February block IN February! Woohoo!
*Side note* I decided to arrange the hexi-flowers in rainbow order as a tribute to my friend Sarah’s rainbow quilt since these are scraps from that quilt. 🙂
In other unrelated non-WIP news, I also won some super cool potholders from Quilty Therapy. Several months ago, she had a contest on her blog asking for opinions on which Marmalade quilt we liked better between her boy and girl quilt. Through random chance, my comment was picked as the winner. Another woohoo!! So I recieved some Marmalade potholders she made using the scraps from the quilt I liked best.
Love your polka-dotty star:) So much fun and such a great block!
